Tool-specific guide

What the OSRS Smithing Calculator calculates

The OSRS Smithing Calculator covers deterministic furnace or anvil actions: bronze bars, iron bars, gold bars with goldsmith gauntlets, and adamant platebodies. The unit named in the result is important because one platebody consumes five bars while one smelting action produces one bar.

Method requirements and XP are local reviewed records. Bars per hour remains editable to reflect furnace choice, bank distance, coal bags, stamina, failure, and tick cycle.

Mechanics, example, and decisions

A result you can audit

Each section documents the calculation and the limits that apply to this specific gameplay problem.

How This OSRS Smithing Calculator Works01

The engine divides XP remaining by 6.2 for bronze bars, 12.5 for iron bars, 56.2 for gauntlet-assisted gold bars, or 312.5 for an adamant platebody, then rounds up.

Time divides successful actions by throughput. It does not convert an item action into constituent bars unless the supporting reference explains the recipe.

Worked Example for the OSRS Smithing Calculator02

An adamant platebody awards 312.5 Smithing XP and consumes five adamant bars. With 62,500 XP remaining, the result is 200 platebodies, corresponding to 1,000 bars before cost or resale.

How to Use the OSRS Smithing Calculator Result03

Use the named unit before purchasing materials. Compare supply cost with output value and remember that a faster per-action method can have a different banking or furnace loop.

OSRS Smithing Calculator Accuracy and Limitations04

Blast Furnace coal ratios, Giants’ Foundry mould scores, cannonballs, dart tips, Smiths’ Uniform effects, ore success rates, and market profit are not represented by these simple action rows.

Player questions

OSRS calculator FAQs

Clear answers about calculations, data, independence, privacy and practical use.

Does the OSRS Smithing result always mean bars?

No. The adamant platebody row returns complete platebodies; its five-bar recipe must be applied afterward.

Are OSRS goldsmith gauntlets included in gold-bar XP?

Yes, that named row uses the gauntlet-boosted 56.2 XP value and should not be used without the effect.

Can OSRS Blast Furnace costs be calculated here?

No. Coal ratios, fees, stamina and banking require a dedicated Blast Furnace model.

How are failed OSRS iron smelts handled?

The iron row counts successful bars; use a lower observed successful-actions rate when failure still applies.
