What the OSRS Max Hit Calculator calculates
The OSRS Max Hit Calculator exposes each stage used to estimate the largest normal hit for Melee, Ranged, or Magic. Inputs include visible boost, prayer multiplier, style bonus, equipment strength or magic-damage percentage, and a separate special modifier.
Keeping the final modifier manual prevents the page from silently claiming that a weapon special, Slayer task, set effect, or monster weakness is active.

How This OSRS Max Hit Calculator Works01+
For Melee and the simplified Ranged path, effective level is floor((base + boost) × prayer) + style + 8. Base max hit is floor(0.5 + effective level × (strength bonus + 64) ÷ 640).
Magic starts with the selected spell base damage and applies magic-damage percentage. The final multiplier is applied after base damage and floored, making the intermediate value inspectable.
Worked Example for the OSRS Max Hit Calculator02+
Strength 99, a +19 boost, 1.23 prayer multiplier, +3 aggressive style, and 132 Strength bonus produce effective level 156 and base max hit 48. This exact fixture is protected by a unit test.
How to Use the OSRS Max Hit Calculator Result03+
Use the max hit alongside accuracy and attack speed, not by itself. The DPS Calculator connects the same damage result to an enemy defence roll and expected damage over time.
OSRS Max Hit Calculator Accuracy and Limitations04+
The generic controls cannot encode every special attack, raid scaling, set proc, bolt effect, spell charge, target type, or PvP rule. Input a modifier only when its ordering and applicability match the linked Wiki formula.
