PogoAPI normalized Pokémon GO data · reviewed 2026-09-05. The neutral-target model does not apply type effectiveness, STAB, weather, friendship, dodging, PvP shields, buffs, debuffs, or raid-party effects. PvE and PvP move records are never mixed.

Tool-specific guide

What the Pokémon GO DPS Calculator calculates

The Pokémon GO DPS Calculator compares a selected Fast Move and Charged Move under explicit PvE or PvP timing data. It reports individual DPS, energy generation and use, the number of Fast Moves per Charged Move, complete cycle time, and combined DPS.

Raids/Gyms and Trainer Battles use different move records, so the mode selector changes power, energy, and timing together. A move name shared by both modes is not assumed to have shared numbers.

Input workflow

Use the DPS Calculator

  1. 1

Choose PvE or PvP before selecting the species and moves.

  2. 2

Set level, Attack IV, and an optional neutral target Defense.

  3. 3

Read cycle DPS with Fast Move count; then account for real matchup modifiers outside this model.

How This Pokémon GO DPS Calculator Works01

The engine calculates effective Attack from species base Attack, IV, and level CPM. Neutral damage per hit is floored after applying 0.5 × move power × effective Attack ÷ target Defense, with a minimum of one.

Fast count is ceil(charged energy cost ÷ fast energy gain). Combined DPS divides all Fast Move damage plus one Charged Move by the time required for that cycle. PvE uses milliseconds; PvP uses turn duration and a visible Charged Move execution assumption.

Worked Example for the Pokémon GO DPS Calculator02

Suppose a Fast Move gains eight energy and the selected Charged Move costs 50. The cycle needs ceil(50 ÷ 8) = seven Fast Moves. Their damage, one charged hit, seven fast durations, and charged duration all enter the combined DPS rather than averaging two move labels.

How to Use the Pokémon GO DPS Calculator Result03

Compare cycle DPS only when mode, target Defense, level, and IV assumptions match. A higher raw number can lose practical value if the Pokémon faints before reaching the Charged Move or if typing changes damage.

Pokémon GO DPS Calculator Accuracy and Limitations04

This transparent baseline omits STAB, type effectiveness, weather, friendship, party power, dodging, raid bosses, PvP shields, buffs, debuffs, energy carryover, and damage windows. It is not a full battle simulator.

Player questions

Pokémon GO calculator FAQs

Clear answers about calculations, data, independence, privacy and practical use.

Why does a Pokémon GO move have different PvE and PvP DPS?

Niantic maintains separate power, energy, and timing records for Raids/Gyms and Trainer Battles.

What does Pokémon GO cycle DPS include?

It includes enough Fast Moves to fund one Charged Move, all resulting neutral damage, and the total execution time.

Does the Pokémon GO DPS result apply type effectiveness?

No. The current output is intentionally neutral so the target Defense assumption remains the only matchup input.

Are Elite Pokémon GO moves available in the selector?

The reviewed species pools identify elite records separately; the first release focuses on the normal current move pool and does not imply Elite TM availability.
