OSRS Wiki: Target monster hitpoints · reviewed 2026-09-05. Slayer XP normally tracks the assigned monster’s hitpoints; replace 100 with the target value. XP per action and actions/hour remain editable for boosts, failures, banking, tick methods, and route differences.
What the OSRS Slayer Calculator calculates
The OSRS Slayer Calculator turns a progression goal into kills using the XP awarded by the assigned target. For ordinary tasks this is closely tied to monster Hitpoints, but bosses, superior creatures, group encounters, shared damage, and special assignments can differ.
The starting 100 XP per kill is an explicit scenario prompt, not a claim about a named monster. Replace it with the linked task target’s actual Slayer XP before treating the kill count as useful.
Use the Slayer Calculator
- 1
Record current Slayer total XP and target level.
- 2
Look up the assigned monster’s Slayer XP and replace the per-kill field.
- 3
Enter completed kills per hour from the same gear and location.

How This OSRS Slayer Calculator Works01+
The canonical level formula gives XP remaining. Kills are ceiling(remaining XP ÷ Slayer XP per credited kill), and hours are kills divided by the entered rate.
The engine does not assume task streak points, bracelets, skips, block lists, superior spawns, or a Slayer master because those change planning around the kill calculation rather than the basic division.
Worked Example for the OSRS Slayer Calculator02+
If 50,000 Slayer XP remains and the verified target awards 125 Slayer XP per credited kill, 400 kills are required. At 80 credited kills per hour, the simple combat-time estimate is five hours.
How to Use the OSRS Slayer Calculator Result03+
Use the kill total to estimate task count only after considering average assignment size. Open DPS for encounter speed and Drop Rate for a separate item-probability goal; neither changes Slayer XP automatically.
OSRS Slayer Calculator Accuracy and Limitations04+
Some kills split credit, award bonus XP, have phase damage, or occur off task. Bursting stacks, cannon damage, partner Slayer, superiors, and boss alternatives need session-derived XP and kill rates.

OSRS calculator FAQs
Clear answers about calculations, data, independence, privacy and practical use.
Is OSRS Slayer XP always equal to monster Hitpoints?
Often it is closely related, but bosses, special encounters, shared damage, and explicit exceptions require the monster’s actual Slayer XP record.
Does the OSRS Slayer tool estimate task points?
No. Task streaks, masters, skips and bracelets are separate systems from XP per credited kill.
How should OSRS superior monsters be counted?
Include their observed XP contribution in an effective session rate rather than treating every normal kill as a superior.
Can OSRS DPS be converted directly to Slayer kills per hour?
Not safely. Travel, respawn, looting, multiple targets and supply breaks separate encounter DPS from full-session throughput.
